What is the wave and how many types of waves ?
In physics wave means that it is more widespread whare it expresses many types of vibration or oscillation . Under this various types of wave speed mechanical , Electromagnetic thermal.
Generally two types of waves that is ,
(1) mechanical waves(2) electromagnetic waves
what is mechanical waves ?
That waves which needs midium (solids, liquid,and gas ) to flow. it is mechanical wave . Like that
Voice , ultrasonic waves, super sonic waves .And also that wave which flow on the water in river .
What is electromagnetic wave ?
That waves which doesn't need to midium to flow. it is electromagnetic wave. Like that X- rays , α- rays , γ - rays, β -Beta etc.

Electromagnetic waves is two types
Based on the direction of speed and vibration.
1. Transverse waves -
In this the direction of motion of the wave is perpendicular to the direction of vibrating of the particle in the midium.
2.longitudinal waves -
In this the direction of motion of the wave is parallel to the direction of vibrating of the particle in the midium.
