Scientists have discovered a significant increase in radiocarbon levels 14,300 years ago, indicating the largest solar storm ever recorded. The analysis of ancient tree rings in the French Alps revealed the spike, raising concerns about the potential catastrophic impact of a similar event on modern technological society. The study emphasized the need to understand and predict extreme solar events to protect Earth's communication and energy infrastructure.
