Indian and American researchers have found substantial Neanderthal genes in modern Indian DNA, making Indians exhibit the most diverse Neanderthal ancestry globally. These genes impact immune function, disease risk, brain development, and muscle repair. Neanderthal DNA is linked to diseases like Lupus and Type 2 diabetes. The study provides insights into the survival trends of the elderly population in India.
